Updated: Feb 20

The new terrace at LPM

Lunch on the terrace

Inspired by the French Rivera, LPM in Gate Village has just flung open the doors to its new terrace and it’s makes the perfect spot for lunch. Plus, the French fare on offer here is top shelf. We rate the yellowtail with avocado and citrus dressing along with the grilled rib eye steak. Be sure to finish with the gâteau au fromage frais (otherwise known as cheesecake). 12-3.30pm, 7-11.30pm, +971 4 439 0505

Art exhibition

Exploring themes of space through visual artist Athier’s trademark geometric forms and bold colours comes the dreamlike exhibition Nothing is Certain and Everything is Temporary at Ayyam Gallery Dubai. The British-Iraqi painter uses surrealist techniques, combining squiggles, foam and floating objects to create otherworldly pictures that weave the contemporary with the nostalgic. The colourful works of art are on display at the gallery in Alserkal Avenue until March 2020.

Get the weekend started early

Salsa your way into the end of the week at the vibrant late-night bar and restaurant, Andalucia Tapas & Grill tonight. Adding some Latin flair to Wednesdays, the Havana Oh Na Na night offers a free salsa class at 10pm. Setting the party atmosphere is a live Cuban band and group of dancers who get the crowd on their feet. Before taking to the floor, fuel your Cha Cha Cha’s with some authentic Spanish dishes and tapas. And for those needing a little Dutch courage, the bar's Wednesday deal means you can enjoy three house drinks for Dhs99. Jebel Ali Recreational Centre, Next to Ibn Battuta Mall (10mins drive from Dubai Marina, JLT, Gardens). +971 4 882 3771
