What to do in Dubai today: Emirates Literature Festival 08/02

Three-ways to spend your Saturday in Dubai

For the book lovers

It’s the last day of the Emirates Literature Festival today. Fans of the written word in all its forms should head down to InterContinental Festival City to meet the likes of Mitch Albom, Clare Mackintosh, Adam Rutherford, Maria Dadouch and more. The event runs all-day and each author hosts their own workshop or talk which tickets can be purchased for here. 9am-8.30pm, +971 4 355 9844

For the art buffs

Exploring themes of space through visual artist Athier’s trademark geometric forms and bold colours comes the dreamlike exhibition NOTHING IS CERTAIN EVERYTHING IS MELTING, AND THAT’S OKAY at Ayyam Gallery Dubai. The British-Iraqi painter uses surrealist techniques, combining squiggles, foam and floating objects to create otherworldly pictures that weave the contemporary with the nostalgic. The colourful works of art are on display at the gallery in Alserkal Avenue until March 2020.
